Aiuti europei per favorire il rinnovo dei frutteti francesi
La Commissione Europea ha approvato un progetto per quattro anni di aiuti ai produttori francesi di mele, pesche e nettarine.
Ammontano a 74.5 milioni di Euro i fondi approvati dalla Commissione e che dovrebbero essere usati dai frutticoltori francesi per estirpare i vecchi alberi e introdurre nuove varietà.
il programma, che è stato proposto dal Governo francese per ridurre la capacità produttiva riguarderà un 6.000 ettari di meleti e un'area di 2. 500 ettari coltivata a pesche e nettarine.
Lo scopo è di incoraggaire un cambiamento nella produzione verso varietà più in linea con le richieste del consumatore.
French seek grubbing aid
The European Commission has this week approved a scheme which grants aid to French producers of apples, peaches and nectarines over four years.
Grant aid worth ? 74.5million has been approved by the Commission for use by French growers to grub old trees and introduce new varieties.
The scheme, which has been proposed by the French government plans to cut capacity and will affect some 6,000ha of apple-production area and 2,500ha of peach and nectarine production.
French government proposals outlined also include a programme of investment subsidies to promote subsequent replanting and growing of new varieties. The aim is to encourage a shift in production towards certified and improved varieties more in line with changing consumer demands.
The Commission has approved the proposals in the scheme as in line with the common market organisation (CMO) for fruit and vegetables. Approval from other member states is awaited before the proposals can be implemented.
