The Tropical Fruit Congress comes to Rimini on 6th May

Spotlight on avocados. The event will also include dedicated workshops, networking and a thematic exhibition area

As part of Macfrut 2022, on 6th May the doors will open on the third edition of the Tropical Fruit Congress, the Rimini event organised by Ncx Drahorad which this year will focus specifically on avocado.

The figures justify this choice: avocado consumption has been increasing steadily in recent years, with global growth estimated to reach 4,8% by 2025. The congress will explore market trends, consumption, trade, technologies and sales strategies, with the invaluable participation of sector experts, buyers and international producers.

“Avocado is the most important tropical fruit of all,” argued Ncx Chairman, Thomas Drahorad, during this morning’s press conference, live from Dubai. “Suffice to say that in 2020 it recorded a 67% growth in sales. It’s considered the trendiest product by Milanese consumers, who represent a significant consumer basket when it comes to establishing fashions, also in food. And Italian consumption – estimated at twenty-four thousand tonnes – is seeing year-on-year growth of 20%. But there are still excellent margins for growth: over the past year, one family in every six has tried avocado”.

The event, whose media partner is myfruit.it, will also include thematic exhibition areas, b2b networking and technical workshops. In addition, it will also look at avocado production in Italy.
